This is a traditional Scandinavian straw Christmas goat (Julbock) adorned with vibrant red ribbon bindings wrapped around its body and legs. In modern times, the Yule Goat (Julbock) has transformed from a rowdy fertility symbol into a peaceful, nostalgic staple of Scandinavian Christmas decor. Across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland, the goat remains an essential part of the holiday identity through several contemporary customs. This is a large 19” x 17” x 5” Christmas goat with only minor surface wear or signs of use.
